Oven Tossing

If oven tossing was an Olympic sport, I think we would be a qualifier. Fortunately getting rid of our old oven was an easy and fun task, which this spring boat maintenance season, didn't happen too often.

We decided that this was the year we were FINALLY going to put in an oven we will actually use. We have been talking about doing this for the past 4 seasons. Further came with an alcohol stove which we never used. People who have used these types of ovens have compared using one to "starting a fire on their oven" and that black soot could take over the cabin of your boat when using these types of ovens. Needless to say, not having an oven we were comfortable using has made living on the boat while on our summer trips and in port a bit more difficult and expensive. We would have to go out to eat, order delivery or make something that doesn't require a stove or oven. Here is part one of our series on how to, or how not to, remove your old oven, install a new oven and creating/installing a propane system!

A treat for the local metal man!
